As a prior service Marine, I am often asked where I served, and people want to know if I was in any conflicts. Medically discharged early and serving under a peaceful administration, my heart still feels pain when I hear of any service member being lost in training or conflict. Many people have been lost to war; Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan. They all have one thing in common, they went, they fought, some came home, some didn't. I heard the statement in a sermon the other day about Christians being in a war, and I thought about how we really do not realize how true or how serious our war is. A lot like the people in the military to country, we have made a dedication to Jesus. In that moment, satan wages a war against us. We are the warriors for Christ's Kingdom. We must prepare ourselves daily with the armor of God. We must walk with our head on a swivel, prepared for whatever attack the enemy has in store. Being a Christian, no one said it was easy. Just like military, the more you make it through, the tougher you become. God will see us through our battles, and our faith will strengthen. Jesus, our Lord and Savior, went to the Cross and died for our filthy, no good souls. As Christians, we should be willing and prepare to die daily for the sake of our Lord. For Christ's sake, because without Him, our lives would be nothing.
